DATE: Friday, July 24th
TIME: 7:00 pm
WHERE: New Deal Distillery, SE Portland
The story of New Deal Distillery is one of passion and community. Tom Burkleaux and Matthew VanWinkle of New Deal Distillery are the ones who paved the craft-distilling road in Portland, starting the smallest licensed distillery in America in 2004. They credit Portland’s craft brewing and food communities for creating such a collaborative and supportive environment. From distilling his own vodka in 2001, Tom has now grown New Deal to have over 10 different spirits available at any time.
The LET um EAT Takeover at New Deal Distillery will bring together Seeders, Feeders and Eaters in the collaborative spirit, highlighting this successful urban distillery through a five-course menu that also features ingredients from urban farms: The Side Yard Farm and Simpson St Farm and other members of the LET um EAT Collective. The good folks of New Deal Distillery have crafted suggested cocktail pairings from each course.
