5 Fav #Seeders of Instagram – November

Celebrating our favorite #Seeders on Instagram

Instagram is a great way to live vicariously through other people. These 5 Instagram #Seeders make farming look fun and entertaining, and of course a lot of work. If you don’t follow them already, you sure should.

The Seeder: @FarmerT: Tucker Taylor. Culinary Gardener

Why we love @FarmerT: Taylor, previously the Culinary Gardener for Thomas Keller’s empire and now with Jackson Family Wines, grows some beautiful vegetables in Northern California wine country. The colors of his work are mesmerizing.
Kind of reminds us of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.

The Seeder: @SheFarmsInFreeUnion: Erica from the Grass Farm http://www.freeuniongrassfarm.com

Why we love @SheFarmsInFreeUnion: Erica and her husband Joel learned their grass farming ways from the guru of grass farming: Joel Salatin. Now they have a beautiful farm in Virginia and graze cows, chickens, ducks and pigs. Erica is a kick-ass lady farmer sharing her daily adventures, from castrating pigs to rotating ducks around the fields.

The Seeder: @HawgFarmer: Travis Hood -Raising the endangered Red Wattle Hog on our farm in Mount Olivet, KY. -I eat humanely raised meat, if you don’t…go pound sand. -iPhone only. http://www.hoodsheritagehogs.com

Why we love @HawgFarmer: It’s kind of hard to explain how amazing Travis’ photos of his pigs are- you have to just go see it for yourself. Plus, that beard.

The Seeder: @FarmersRoots: I am an organic farmer, traveling for 1year exploring global sustainable and innovative agriculture. iPhone mostly. http://www.farmerseekingroots.com/?p=1077

Why we love @FarmersRoots: Joneve is traveling the world, exploring farming and food with the people that are growing, cooking and eating it. Her travels so far have taken her through Ireland, England, the Netherlands and France and now into Asia. Chances are, you’re not on this journey, so you should follow hers. Read more about Joneve’s project, Farmer Seeking Roots.

The Seeder: @FarmerChandler: Chandler Briggs Farmer, Walla Walla, WA. Previously, Beach Bum, Hermosa Beach, CA http://betweenourselvesandourland.wordpress.com

Why we love @FarmerChandler: This guy is legit: working the land with true horsepower. Chandler is part of a team of young farmers and two draft horses (Avi and Dandy) growing good food for themselves and their community in Walla Walla, WA. They live by the mantra: Not certified, but efficient.
