Celebrating our favorite #Eaters on Instagram
Instagram is a great way to learn what other people in the food community are up to. These 5 Instagram #Eaters throw out some mouthwatering photos while eating through their home cities, across the country and around the world.
The Eater: @localhaven: Ashley Marti. stylist, recipe developer, creative maker || Pacific Northwest || www.localhaven.net www.ashleymarti.com
Why we love @localhaven: Ashley is a Portland-based food stylist and photographer with a serious eye for capturing the beauty in food: think vibrant colors and perfect presentations, resulting in irresistible-looking dishes. She’s created an impressive following with her delectable photos and simple captions. Ashley also hosts creative workshops all over the Pacific Northwest that “focus around styling, photography, cooking and coming together as a creative community”. If anything, she’ll be a great inspiration to step up your own Instagram game.
The Eater: @kitchensense: Mitchell Davis. Food lover, author, reviewer, Ph.D., host @TasteMattersHRN, avid cook, @JamesBeardFoundation EVP & Chief Creative Officer @USApavilion2015. www.cookandeatbetter.com
Why we love @kitchensense: Mitchell is a mover and a shaker, to say the least. Probably best known as the Executive Vice President of the James Beard Foundation, Mitchell is also an incredible writer and the host of a great Heritage Radio show called Taste Matters. His latest project is as the creative director for the USA Pavilion at the Milan Expo 2015, which “pays homage to our rich agricultural history” and showcases the USA as a major innovator in food culture, science and business. We can’t help but admire Mitchell and wonder what it would be like to enjoy a meal with him… in the meantime we can follow him around on ‘gram.
The Eater: @fwscout: Dana Cowin. Editor-in-Chief of Food & Wine magazine; author of Mastering My Mistakes in the Kitchen www.masteringmymistakes.com/buy-the-book/
Why we love @fwscout: Dana Cowin is a familiar face in the food world, as editor of a little magazine you may have heard of called Food & Wine. One would expect her Instagram feed to be spot on and it sure is. Dana clearly knows good food: from dining in high end restaurants with the best chefs in the country to the seeking out the most delicious-looking lobster rolls, burgers and donuts possible. The food photos are split up by the occasional meme; a recent favorite: “The best cure for a hangover is being under the age of 25.” And that’s why we love Dana.
The Eater: @socialsf: Steven Oliver Maître d’ @cockscombsf Socializer, Oenophilia, Spirit Merchant, Writer, Political Opinions, Lover of Paris, Connoisseur of Good Things in Life…
Why we love @socialsf: Steven is somewhat of an icon in San Francisco’s hospitality industry. A passionate host with over 20 years experience in the city, he is currently the maitre d’ of Chris Cosentino’s 9 month old Cockscomb. When Steven’s not at work, it appears he’s often hosting his own dinner parties or out on the town enjoying everything San Francisco has to offer, from amazing restaurants and farmers markets to the beautiful sights. We met Steven earlier this year at Cockscomb and he’s been a big supporter of LET um EAT ever since. Finally, we can’t fail to mention, Steven’s got a mean hashtag game. A few personal favs: #RoseAllDamnDay #AboutLastNight and #LiveAuthentic
The Eater: @danielkrieger: Professional Ping Pong Player. A recent photoshoot with PUNCH for my “Bar Tripping” photo essay series? punchdrink.com/articles/inside-bar-goto-new-york-japanese-cocktail-bar/
Why we love @danielkrieger: Daniel Krieger takes stunning photographs. Over 136,000 people on Instagram think so. He’s so good with it that he shot the entire Time Out New York 2014 Food & Drink Awards feature using Instagram. We often see his work on our favorite cocktail website Punch Drink, and in the New York Times. In addition to the food beautiful shots, his feed has incredible portrait and lifestyle photographs too. We promise you’ll love it all.
