LET um EAT & Culinary Breeding Network Takeover Elder Hall
When we started talking to people about the LET um EAT Collective and our idea to build a network of Seeders, Feeders and Eaters, we immediately heard about Lane Selman. Lane is the founder of the Culinary Breeding Network which brings together chefs, eaters and plant breeders to discuss the flavor, texture and culinary quality of plants and vegetables. This dinner will highlight her work and provide eaters with an opportunity to learn more about what goes into growing and developing organic seeds and plants. The menu will feature ingredients like falstaff lettuces, perfection fennel and badger beets from local growers. Farmers Josh Volk (Slow Hand Farm & Our Table Cooperative) and Laura Masterson (47th Ave Farms) and plant breeders/seed growers Sarah Kleeger and Andrew Still (Adaptive Seeds) will also be joining us to shed some light on what culinary breeding is all about.
Jason French, LET um EAT Feeder and chef of Ned Ludd, and his partner Michelle Batista, recently opened Elder Hall. Elder Hall is a gathering space: a place to host classes and workshops, special dinners and celebrations, to gather around food and celebrate culture. This is a perfect place to share the story of the Culinary Breeding Network.
Join us and other seeders, feeders and eaters from the community for dinner, drinks and and a great time!
